Job Title:

3-Month Shanghai Traineeship Program (For Malaysian Chinese Graduates)

Not for everyone. But for the right person, it can change the direction of your career

DaoDe Search is a specialized legal executive search firm and we help multinational corporations hire senior lawyers across the Asia Pacific region.

OPENING:

This is not a typical graduate program.

Most candidates will not find it comfortable.

However, for a small group of individuals, it becomes a defining early-career experience they fully commit to.

WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO:

You will work on real, live hiring and talent acquisition projects.

This includes:

• Engaging with candidates who are often more experienced than you
• Persuading individuals to consider new career opportunities
• Managing frequent rejection and follow-ups
• Persistently driving conversations that do not progress easily

Some days, nothing will move forward.

On other days, a single breakthrough can change everything.

WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS:

• A 3-month traineeship based in Shanghai
• Continuous training, assessment, and performance evaluation throughout the program
• This is not an observation-based internship
• You are expected to deliver outcomes, not just participate

At the end of the 3 months:

• A selected number of trainees may be offered full-time roles in Shanghai, based on performance

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

• Direct exposure to real hiring operations and business decisions

We prioritize:

We place less weight on:

• Self-reported skills or claims without evidence

Job Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are:

•  Malaysian Chinese graduates or final-year students
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Open to relocating to Shanghai for the 3-month traineeship program
  • Strong communicators with confidence speaking to professionals and senior candidates
  • Mentally resilient and able to handle rejection, pressure, and challenging conversations
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working toward performance-based goals and outcomes
  • Persistent, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Interested in recruitment, talent acquisition, business communication, or consulting environments

Preferred but not mandatory:

•  Previous internship, sales, customer service, recruitment, or leadership experience
  • Strong academic or extracurricular achievements
  • Ability to adapt quickly in an international working environment
