1. Leading the Customer Experience

Your core mission is to ensure an exceptional shopping experience for sports enthusiasts.

• Be a Product Expert: You must know the technical features and user benefits of the products to offer the best solutions to customers.
• Manage Team Availability: Organize the team's working hours to ensure staff are available when customers need them most.
• Grow the Community: Encourage customers to sign up for the loyalty card to develop their relationship with Decathlon.

2. Developing and Managing Your Team

As a leader, you are responsible for recruiting, training, and inspiring your team members.

• Recruit Top Talent: Hire sporty individuals with a sense of service and a practical, energetic attitude.
• Develop Skills and Confidence: Hold regular individual and team meetings and provide daily coaching to help each team member grow their skills and independence.
• Plan for Growth: Create and implement a training and development plan for the entire team.
• Ensure Compliance: Guarantee the standard employment process is followed.

3. Driving the Company's Commercial Success

You act like a business owner for your department, managing performance, stock, and sales strategy.

• Set Ambitions: Propose and achieve annual objectives approved by your store leader.
• Analyze the Market: Study the local market to build the commercial policy for your specific sport.
• Manage Performance: Forecast and manage the economic performance (sales, profit) of your department and create action plans to improve results.
• Control the Layout and Range: Decide the layout plan and product range based on commercial policies and maintain a high-quality, customer-friendly display (facing).
• Ensure Stock Accuracy: Use the automatic replenishment system to ensure accurate and available stock.
• Boost Sales and Experience: Promote top-selling items and manage a "sports experience" that encourages customers to discover new sports and innovations.

4. Safety and Security

You are responsible for the safety of both people and goods in your area.

• Enforce Safety Standards: Apply and enforce basic department safety standards and security procedures (for people, goods, and cash).
• Combat Shrinkage: Play an active role in reducing theft and loss.
• Duty Manager Role: Be ready to lead the entire store as a duty manager when required.
• Product Safety: Observe policies like product traceability and use-by dates.

5. Personal and Professional Growth

Finally, the role is a platform for your own development, with a clear path to becoming a Store Leader.

• Self-Development: Manage your own personal development and training plan.
• Become a Trainer: Participate in training programs, develop your training skills, and become a trainer for others.

• Language Skills: Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken) are essential, with other languages being a bonus.
• Interpersonal Skills: You need strong interpersonal skills—the ability to engage, listen, and influence customers and team members.
• Team Player & Integrity: You must possess a level of integrity and be a committed team player who is willing to work during busiest times (weekends and holidays).
• Versatile Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization is key, especially as you progress toward a Store Manager role.

• Education: A Minimum qualification of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
