Work you’ll do

 

As a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Assistant Manager at Deloitte Southeast Asia, you will play a strategic role in supporting and advancing the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) agenda. You will lead the execution of DEI programs across various areas including respect and inclusion, gender equity, mental health, accessibility and neurodiversity, LGBT+, generational inclusion, among others. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders to implement impactful DEI initiatives, measure progress, and foster an inclusive culture across the firm. 

 

Your role will include;

 

  • Lead DEI Program Implementation: Oversee the design, execution, and continuous improvement of DEI initiatives that promote diversity, enables equity and drives inclusion.
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with the DEI Senior Manager to develop and refine DEI strategies that align with the firm’s overall goals, ensuring the integration of DEI into business practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between DEI leadership, HR, Talent, and business unit leaders to embed DEI principles in talent acquisition, employee experience, and career development processes.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Analyze DEI-related data, track key performance metrics, and generate insights to inform strategic decision-making. Provide regular reports on DEI progress, identifying areas for growth and improvement.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional DEI projects, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Employee Experience, Engagement & Education: Develop, coordinate and roll-out DEI-related content, training programs, and workshops that raise awareness and builds knowledge that fosters understanding and adoption on topics like unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, disability awareness and gender equity, to name a few.
  • Event Leadership: Spearhead the planning and activation of firm-wide DEI events and days of significance, such as International Women’s Day, Mental Health Awareness Week, LGBT+ inclusion campaigns, working parents’ initiatives, and generational inclusion workshops.
  • Policy Review & Recommendations: Evaluate current policies and practices, providing recommendations to promote a more equitable and inclusive workplace, and ensure compliance with industry DEI standards.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Partner with and provide guidance to ERGs, fostering their growth and helping align their efforts with the firm’s broader DEI objectives.
  • External Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with external DEI organizations, vendors, and consultants to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends.
  • Leadership Support: Provide support to senior DEI leaders by preparing briefs, developing communications, and delivering presentations on DEI progress and initiatives.
  • Change Management: Facilitate the adoption of DEI initiatives across the firm by driving communication, engagement, and behavioral change among employees and leaders.
  • Maintain and update DEI intranet pages.

Requirements

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience working in DEI, HR, Talent Management, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience leading and executing DEI programs, with a focus on gender equity, mental health, accessibility inclusion, neurodiversity, generational and LGBT+ inclusion.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, with experience in measuring and tracking DEI progress through metrics.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams and departments.
  • Deep understanding of DEI frameworks, best practices, and relevant legislation or guidelines.
  • Experience with event planning, workshop facilitation, and employee engagement activities.
  • Familiarity with talent processes and how DEI is integrated into recruitment, retention, and career progression.
