Work you will do

 

Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (SR&T) – Regulatory & Financial Risk practice in Southeast Asia. We provide risk transformation, data and modeling solutions focusing on some of the unique and complex issues our clients are facing in finance. Advise our clients how to optimize compliance programs, standardize processes and transform compliance to protect their value across the business, while building great visibility, efficiency and confidence for the future.

 

The Intern will support the Regulatory & Financial Risk (R&FR) Malaysia team in developing, validating, and enhancing quantitative models using analytical tools to measure and manage financial risks. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to risk data analysis, model development, model validation, and regulatory frameworks such as Basel III/IV, IFRS 9, and stress testing.

 

The nature of the work we do includes:

 

  • Actively participate and work with the team in client engagements.
  • Review financial documents and analyze financial data.
  • Prepare presentations and reports.
  • Contribute to the development of client proposals and business development activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support project teams.

Requirements

 

  • Current students who will have graduated or completed an accredited university degree by September 2026.
  • Graduates who have completed an accredited university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics are encouraged to apply.
  • The intern must demonstrate a strong interest and foundational knowledge in financial risk management, including concepts such as credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk.
  • The candidate should be eager to apply quantitative and analytical skills to real-world financial risk problems and contribute to risk data analysis, model development and model validation.
  • Curiosity about risk governance, regulatory expectations, and emerging risk trends (e.g., climate risk, model risk, and AI in risk management) will be highly valued.
  • Demonstrated a consistently excellent academic track record.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability abilities.
  • High attention to detail and is meticulous.
  • Work against demanding timelines.
  • Always coachable for continuous development.
