Job Description

  Key Responsibilities

A. General Accounting

  • Handle full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL) and ensure timely month-end closing.
  • Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliation, and maintain proper accounting records.
  • Monitor cash flow, petty cash, and company bank accounts.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

B. Construction Project Accounting

  • Track project expenditures, progress claims, VO (Variation Orders), and retention sums.
  • Verify subcontractor claims, supplier invoices, delivery orders (DO), and site materials usage.
  • Coordinate with project teams for project budgeting, cost tracking, and cost control.
  • Prepare project costing reports and assist in audit schedules related to projects.

C. Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process supplier invoices and subcontractor claims with proper verification.
  • Maintain supplier aging report and ensure timely payments.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.

D. Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Issue invoices, progress claims, and follow up on collections.
  • Update customer receipts and maintain AR aging report.
  • Liaise with clients’ finance departments for payment matters.

F. Statutory & Compliance

  • Handle SST submission, company tax documentation support, and audit requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and government agencies when required.

G. Administrative Support

  • Maintain proper filing system for accounting documents and contracts.
  • Assist in procurement documentation and admin tasks when needed.

Job Requirements

 Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Familiar with accounting software (SQL, AutoCount, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of project costing and progress claims is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table).
  • Good communication skills, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Preferred Attributes

  • Knowledge of CIDB, JKR, and construction contract documentation.
  • Experience handling payroll for site workers and staff.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
