Job Description

Job Summary:

The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of staff and customers, or goods as assigned by the organisation. The role includes maintaining the vehicle in good condition, ensuring compliance with traffic rules, and providing courteous service to all passengers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Duties

  • Drive the organisation’s van to transport staff and customers as required.
  • Ensure punctual pickup and drop-off at designated locations.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and alighting when necessary.

Vehicle Maintenance

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, water, tyres, lights, brakes, etc.).
  • Keep the vehicle clean, both interior and exterior, at all times.
  • Report any mechanical issues or damages immediately to the supervisor.
  • Schedule and ensure regular servicing and maintenance of the vehicle.

Safety and Compliance

  • Observe all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
  • Ensure all passengers wear seat belts and comply with safety procedures.
  • Maintain updated road tax, insurance, and relevant permits.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain a logbook of daily trips, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Support logistics tasks such as loading and unloading materials when needed.
  • Assist in errands or deliveries for official purposes.

Job Requirements

 Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Malaysian Driving Licence (Class D / E or equivalent).
     
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience (experience in NGO, school, or training centre preferred).
     
  • Good knowledge of local routes and road safety practices.
     
  • Physically fit and able to assist with minor vehicle tasks or lifting items.
     
  • Responsible, punctual, and courteous personality.
     
  • Basic record-keeping skills and ability to follow instructions.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours as per organisation schedule (may include weekends or special events).
     
  • Based at Main Office.
     
  • Must be willing to travel locally as assigned.
