• To be fully responsible for ensuring strict compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) and all applicable regulations, guidelines, codes of practice, and requirements imposed by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). • To plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor the Construction Site Safety and Health Plan to ensure a safe and healthy working environment at all times. • To carry out hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control (HIRARC) for all construction activities and to ensure that appropriate control measures are effectively implemented. • To conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the construction site, machinery, equipment, scaffolding, work at height, and other high-risk activities. • To investigate all accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near-miss events, and to prepare comprehensive investigation reports together with recommendations for corrective and preventive actions. • To provide professional advice to the Employer, the Employer’s Representative, and the Project Team on matters relating to occupational safety and health improvement. • To plan and conduct safety induction training, toolbox meetings, and safety awareness programs for all workers, contractors, and subcontractors at the site. • To ensure the proper use of suitable and adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel and to enforce compliance with safe work procedures. • To liaise and coordinate with relevant authorities, including DOSH and other regulatory agencies, on matters related to occupational safety and health. • To prepare, maintain, and properly keep all safety and health records, reports, permits, and documentation in a systematic and orderly manner. • To perform any other duties related to occupational safety and health as may be assigned by the Management from time to time.
1. Possesses at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Science, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized institution. 2. Registered as a Safety and Health Officer with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and holds a valid Certificate of Competency (SHO). 3. Knowledgable of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514), relevant regulations, codes of practice, and safety guidelines applicable to the construction industry. 4. Experience in the construction industry shall be an added advantage.
