The Barista prepares and serves high-quality beverages at the café outlet, combining technical coffee-making skills with attentive customer service while ensuring consistency, hygiene, stock control and adherence to operational standards.

Job Requirements

• Beverage Preparation
• Prepare beverages according to standard recipes
• Operate coffee machines, grinders and related equipment correctly
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation and quality
• Customer Service
• Greet customers politely and take orders accurately
• Answer customer inquiries regarding menu items
• Handle customer feedback or complaints professionally
• Cleanliness & Hygiene
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, machines, tools and workstations
• Perform daily opening and closing cleaning duties
• Comply with food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards
• Stock & Inventory
• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups and bar supplies
• Assist with stock rotation and replenishment
• Report low stock or equipment issues to supervisors
• Quality Control
• Follow recipe standards without deviation unless approved by Supervisor/Manager
• Immediately report any product quality issues (taste, texture, temperature, presentation)
• Ensure drinks served meet brand standards before handover to customer
• Communication & Reporting
• Communicate clearly with team members during service to ensure smooth operations
• Report incidents, mistakes, or operational issues immediately to Supervisor or Manager
• Escalate unresolved customer issues promptly

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum SPM / high school qualification or equivalent
• At least 1–2 years of experience as a barista or in a similar food & beverage role
• Solid knowledge of espresso-based and manual brewing methods
• Barista certification and/or latte art skills are an advantage
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices; a food handling certificate is a plus
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required
