Job Description

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Business Development Specialist to build and drive our new business pipeline from the ground up. You’ll be the agency’s front line: identifying prospects, opening conversations, and converting opportunities into signed clients.


Depending on the opportunity, you’ll be selling By The Billions experience packages (integrated campaigns combining offline and online marketing) and El Papi Creatives’ core marketing services, which include social media management, creative campaigns, digital PR campaigns, and KOL campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a new business pipeline from scratch using a targeted hunt list across key brands and industries.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calling, door knocking, LinkedIn outreach, and email campaigns.
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and conferences to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities, understanding prospect needs and matching them to agency capabilities.
  • Lead pitch presentations and proposal development in collaboration with the creative and strategy teams.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through negotiation and contract signing.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as their main point of contact for all project-related communications.
  • Gather and understand client briefs, communicate these to the internal team, and ensure that client feedback is accurately conveyed and implemented.
  • Grow and maintain current accounts by identifying upsell opportunities, and develop sales strategies to convert high-potential prospects into new business.
  • Track and report on pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue targets.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • 4–7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a hybrid of both.
  • Background in marketing, advertising, or communications (either client-side or agency-side).
  • Proven track record of building pipeline and closing deals, with numbers to back it up.
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound activity: cold calls, walk-ins, event networking.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and proposal writing skills.
  • Self-starter who can operate independently without waiting for direction.

Strong preference:

  • Prior experience in agency business development or sales, ideally within a marketing or creative agency.
  • An existing network of industry contacts that can be activated as prospects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience working with automotive brands or within the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian marketing and advertising landscape.
