Job Summary

A Senior Accounting Manager for a group of companies with strong business acumen is a leadership role requiring expertise in accounting, finance, and business operations. This individual would lead the finance team, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, while also contributing to the strategic direction of the company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Finance Department:

This includes managing a team of accountants, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. 

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:

Developing and implementing financial strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and analysing financial performance. 

  • Compliance and Reporting:

Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IAS, IFRS, MAS), tax regulations, and other relevant legal requirements. 

  • Intercompany Transactions:

Managing complex intercompany transactions and ensuring accurate consolidation. 

  • Working with Business Units:

Collaborating with other departments to understand their financial needs and provide support. 

  • Business Acumen:

Applying a business-oriented perspective to accounting and finance decisions, understanding the broader business context and how it impacts financial performance. 

  • Decision Support:

Providing financial insights to management, assisting with strategic decisions, and identifying opportunities for improvement. 

  • Risk Management:

Identifying and mitigating financial risks, including fraud prevention and compliance. 

  • Process Improvement:

Implementing and improving financial processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. 


Job Requirements

  Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong Accounting and Finance Knowledge:

Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations. 

  • Business Acumen:

Understanding of business operations, market trends, and how financial decisions impact overall business performance. 

  • Leadership and Management Skills:

Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage projects, and effectively communicate. 

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to analyse data, identify issues, and develop solutions. 

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.

  • Experience in a Group of Companies:

Experience with intercompany accounting, consolidation, and working with multiple entities.
