Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager – PR & Communications to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in online crisis communications and online reputation management, with proven media and social media expertise, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations while safeguarding and enhancing the client’s brand image.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage online crisis communication efforts, including developing and executing rapid-response strategies.
  • Monitor and manage client’s reputation across online & offline media, social platforms, and review sites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media representatives and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute integrated communication plans, in collaboration with media relations, to strengthen brand visibility and credibility.
  • Draft, review, and edit press releases, speeches, Q&A documents, and public statements.
  • Provide media training and crisis communication guidance to client’s stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse online and offline media coverage, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Work closely with marketing and digital teams to ensure messaging consistency across all channels.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or crisis management.
  • Proven track record in handling online crises, managing brand reputation in digital spaces, and extensive experience in client management.
  • Strong media relations skills and familiarity with the Malaysian media landscape.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to emerging situations.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and highly adaptable to change.
