Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Job Description

You’ll support the management of brand reputation, narrative shaping, and crisis communication initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of research, analysis, stakeholder understanding, and sentiment monitoring. Your job: help the team anticipate, identify and analyse issues, shape conversations, and turn insights into impactful action that enhance and protect brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reputation Intelligence

  • Monitor online sentiment across news, social media, forums, and community platforms.
  • Track emerging topics, risks, misinformation, and public reactions.
  • Prepare daily/weekly insight summaries and issue alerts, during sensitive situations.

2. Strategic Analysis & Advisory

  • Analyse public conversations and identify what matters for the brand’s credibility and trust.
  • Translate data trends into strategic implications and recommendations.
  • Support development of reputation playbooks, narratives, and communication strategies.

3. Stakeholder & Issue Mapping

  • Map key audiences, opinion drivers, communities, and other risk drivers.
  • Identify gaps in brand promise vs. citizen/customer experience.

4. Content & Messaging Support

  • Draft talking/seeding points, narrative frameworks, FAQ decks, and key narratives.
  • Support development of campaign ideas that strengthen public trust.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with execution teams to frame, execute and oversee issue and crisis management efforts.
  • Participate in war-room simulations, scenario planning, and reputation audits.

6. Maintain Client Relationships

  • Manage projects end-to-end: timelines, deliverables, and coordination across teams and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with clients to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure work aligns with expectations.
  • Track progress, escalate issues when needed, and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare reports for leadership summarising insights, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Maintain an informational database and keep updated with industry trends and stories.

Our ideal team member thrives under pressure, thinks on their feet, and turns challenges into opportunities. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Thrives in the fast lane: Can handle high-stakes situations without panic, staying sharp even when news or social chatter spikes.
  • Obsessed with impact: Focuses on insights and actions that truly move the needle, not just monitoring for the sake of it.
  • Curious and proactive: Spots trends, potential crises, or opportunities before anyone else does, and speaks up with solutions.
  • Disciplined under pressure: Can juggle multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and unexpected challenges without losing focus.
  • Fearless and resilient: Handles criticism, sensitive issues, and public scrutiny calmly and professionally.
  • Owns the outcome: Doesn’t wait to be told what to do—takes initiative and drives results.
  • Excited by the challenge: Loves solving complex problems, shaping narratives, and seeing the direct impact of their work.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, social sciences, business or a related field.
  • Strong analytical ability and interest in public sentiment, societal trends, and online discourse.
  • Comfortable working with data (qualitative + quantitative)
  • Strong writing, synthesis, and presentation skills.
  • Social media savvy; understands platform dynamics and community behaviours.
  • Able to handle fast-moving topics and multiple priorities.

Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have)
