Job Description

This role supports the department in building, engaging, and growing the EPIC Community of volunteers, partners and supporters. The role focuses on executing engagement initiatives, coordinating events, maintaining community data, and supporting volunteer growth pathways to ensure meaningful and impactful experiences for community members.

Job functions may include and are not limited to:

Community Engagement & Growth

  • Planning and execution of community engagement initiatives, setting objectives, defining outcomes, and driving volunteer growth and retention strategies.
  • Design and manage volunteer and partner engagement programmes, presentations, and external events to create opportunities for member involvement.
  • Liaise, coordinate, and ideate with the internal team on engagement initiatives, planning, development, feedback, execution, and reporting.
  • Assist in drafting and sharing community communications (e.g., newsletters, forum, posts, campaign updates, and social content) in collaboration with Marketing and PR.
  • Leverage data and insights to track engagement trends, measure impact, and provide feedback that informs future community growth strategies.

Operations & Administration

  • Support end-to-end volunteer lifecycle management, including recruitment strategy, onboarding frameworks, and mission coordination.
  • Serve as a key communications liaison, representing community needs and ensuring timely, transparent updates with internal teams. 
  • Develop, refine, and embed scalable operational processes, standards, and onboarding systems that support community growth.
  • Maintain and update the Community Database.
  • Design, track and report on engagement metrics (e.g., trainings, events, missions).
  • Manage community platform presence, ensuring responsiveness and consistent communication standards across all channels (Sedunia, social media, email).

Cross-Team Support

  • Assist with project tracking, reporting, and administrative duties.
  • Produce presentations, communication materials, and engagement updates for both internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align community activities with EPIC’s goals.
  • Coordination and assistance with the larger Community Engagement & Growth department.
  • Any additional tasks that may be assigned from time to time.


Job Requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Community engagement and stakeholder management
  • Clear written communication for updates, newsletters, and reports
  • Cross-functional collaboration and internal communication
  • 3+ years in community, programmes, events, operations, or NGO/social impact roles
  • Experience strategising and coordinating events, campaigns, or volunteer activities
  • Exposure to managing or supporting community databases or engagement tracking
  • Must possess a valid drivers licence, able to drive, possess own transportation and willing to travel to remote locations independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
