ExxonMobil in Malaysia
In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace.
What role you will play in our team
- Design, implement and support network solutions.
- Provide Level 3 and 4 technical escalations or project driven activities.
- Strong hands-on network technical background, particularly in BGP protocol, routing, switching, and a broad understanding of WAN technologies.
What you will do
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure to meet business requirements.
- Deploy network solutions for various projects, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Conduct network assessments and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems.
- Provide Level 3 and 4 technical support escalations as they arise.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations and processes.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree with emphasis in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Network or a closely related field with course work in technology-related subjects
- More than 3 years proven experience in network design and deployment.
- Strong network knowledge (Cisco/Juniper) - LAN and WAN network equipment and environments, analysis, routing, switching, wireless
- Strong knowledge of BGP protocol and routing
- Strong knowledge in network transport VSAT, MAN, MPLS/IPVPN technology and network management QoS features, DNS, DHCP, SNMP
- Experience with network security practices and tools.
- Knowledge of Versa SD-WAN is a plus.
- Cisco certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) is a bonus.
- Good written and oral communication skills; ability to discuss technical issues with all levels of personnel globally
- Strong, self-initiative and self-motivated
- Flexibility in schedule for working with a global team
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a diversified skill set
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal and team-building orientations
- Adaptability to time pressures & changing priorities
