Job Title: Business Process Operations Intern 

Location: Finexus Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur or Cyberjaya, Selangor
Internship Duration: Minimum 6 months
Language Requirements: English and Malay

At Finexus, we operate the systems that keep Malaysia’s banking and payment ecosystem running reliably every day. As a Business Process Operations Intern, you play an essential role in sustaining the accuracy, timeliness, and continuity of our daily operations. 

By supporting core operational activities such as settlements, reporting, and client-requested adjustments, you help ensure business-as-usual (BAU) processes run smoothly without disruption. Your contribution enables experienced team members to focus on higher-complexity work, process improvements, and strategic initiatives—while maintaining strong service delivery to clients, partners, and regulators. 

This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world financial operations in a regulated environment, building a strong foundation in operational discipline, attention to detail, and professional collaboration. 

About the Role 

You will support day-to-day business operations that underpin our financial and payment services. Working closely with experienced operations professionals, you will assist with transaction processing, settlements, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. 

Beyond executing routine tasks, you will gain insight into how large-scale financial operations are run, how accuracy and compliance are maintained, and how operational teams collaborate to meet strict timelines. Your reliability and attention to detail will directly contribute to operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and service continuity. 

Mission / Expected Outcomes 

  • Support accurate and timely execution of daily operational and settlement activities. 
  • Contribute to the timely preparation and delivery of periodic operational and financial reports. 
  • Ensure routine tasks are handled consistently to maintain BAU stability. 
  • Provide effective operational support during peak reporting periods and staff absences. 
  • Develop practical understanding of financial operations, controls, and stakeholder coordination. 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Daily Operations & Transaction Support 
  • Support daily settlement processes with Card Associations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 
  • Assist in performing financial transactions, including identifying, verifying, and posting entries. 
  • Handle routine operational tasks to ensure smooth daily workflows. 
  1. Reporting & Documentation Support 
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reports (monthly, quarterly) for management, clients, Card Associations, and regulators. 
  • Provide additional support during reporting cycles to ensure reports are completed accurately and on schedule. 
  • Help maintain organised records and documentation to support audits and operational reviews. 
  1. Operational Coordination & Stakeholder Support 
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, banks, and Card Associations as required for operational matters. 
  • Support ad-hoc operational activities such as adjustments and client-requested refunds. 
  • Act as operational backup during staff absences to ensure continuity of BAU activities. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, Business Studies, Administration, Management, or a related field. 
  • Prior work experience is not required; suitable for fresh graduates or current students seeking hands-on exposure. 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. 
  • Well-organised, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a team. 
  • Basic understanding of financial transactions and reporting is an advantage. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay. 
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable in a structured operational environment.
