Finexus is a diversified technology company serving approximately 100 banks and payment companies globally. Our portfolio consists of conventional, Islamic, investment and digital banks and we have been active in this space for 25 years. We are a data processor for card networks including Visa, Mastercard, Alipay and MyDebit, a merchant acquirer registered with Bank Negara, as well as an approved non-bank e-money issuer. About the Job 

We’re looking for an individual who is curious and takes ownership in their work. This role is ideal for a recent law graduate tackling or re-sitting for the CLP exam, as you will navigate the intersection of finance, technology, and law, with a team who understands the rigors of professional qualification while providing practical commercial context. You will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting a wide range of problems, from simple NDAs, to complex frontier matters like machine learning, data analytics and privacy. 

1. High level job scope: 

• Research – your bread and butter, not only domestic, but regulations and practices of other markets with a similar regulatory appetite. You will deep dive in legal, risk and compliance, each has their own nuance, which you will appreciate in greater detail when briefed.  
• Document review and organisation – this includes contracts, NDAs, MOUs as well as complex SaaS, framework and group to group agreements, and regulated products.  
• Regulatory Tracking & Mapping – checking what the law says against current practices and how we can bridge gaps, giving solutions (practical and cost effective). 
• Cross-Departmental coordination – attend internal meetings, preparing slides, speaking notes, board papers and internal training materials. 

1. Exposure Scope 

• Working with external counsels – for multidisciplinary matters, from general litigation, corporate advisory and exercises, tax and specialized practice areas like intellectual property. 
• Structured Mentorship – you will learn and be exposed to tech, finance, and the combination – FinTech, and its more sophisticated disciplines – core banking.  
• Arsenal of Product Exposure – you will gain knowledge from simple e-invoicing, to complex card processing and regulated payments i.e. QR and cross border fund transfers.  

High-performing interns may be considered for future permanent roles.  

Job Requirements

General Requirements 

• LLB, 2:1, and from an overseas university is an added advantage 
• Strong time management to manage competing interests and overlapping priorities 
• Independent and resourceful 
• Willing to put in hours, go the extra mile on a reasonable basis  
• Admit to mistakes, think of solutions on how to fix, and not a finger-pointer
