Job Description

Finprojections, a Singapore startup finance advisory firm building an AI-native CFO office, is hiring a Full-Stack Engineering Intern to help build and ship Founder's Tool — a live production web app used by startup founders and their investors to consolidate financials, forecasts, cap tables, valuation comparables and AI-driven insights. The intern will work on an existing codebase across front-end React, back-end Node.js/Express services and MCP integrations, shipping features to production.

Responsibilities:

  • What you'll work on:
    • Web app (React): build and polish screens for financials, the cap table, valuation comps, cash flow and the in-app AI chat.
    • Backend (Node.js, Express): add API routes, data models and database migrations, and keep the Xero and Google Sheets connections reliable.
    • MCP server: build the tools Claude uses to read and update a company's data, with investor access controls.
    • Integrations: Xero and Google Sheets, Drive and Docs APIs, plus AI features built on Gemini and Claude.
    • Deployment: ship to Railway and Neon, monitor background refresh jobs, and fix production issues.
    • Quality and security: write tests, set up automatic test runs (CI) on GitHub, and help prepare for client security reviews.

Job Requirements

  • What you need:
    • Solid TypeScript or JavaScript, with React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.
    • SQL and a relational database, ideally PostgreSQL.
    • Everyday Git and GitHub: branches, pull requests and code review.
    • Experience deploying at least one app and keeping it running (Railway, Render, Vercel, Fly.io, AWS or similar).
    • Working grasp of REST APIs, sessions and OAuth sign-in flows.
    • Ability to open an unfamiliar large codebase (60,000+ lines) and explain its structure quickly.
    • Willingness to learn finance concepts (P&L, forecast, cap table).

  • Nice to have:
    • Prisma, Vite or Express.
    • Experience building with LLM APIs (Gemini, Claude or OpenAI), function calling, or the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
    • Third-party APIs such as Xero, Google Workspace or Stripe.
    • Background job queues and scheduled tasks.
    • Setting up CI with GitHub Actions.
    • Coursework or interest in finance, accounting or startups.

  • Internship details:
    • Location: Remote
    • Duration: 3 months
    • Start date: November 2026
    • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • How to apply:
    • Email jason@finprojections.com with the subject "Full-Stack Intern – Founder's Tool" and include:
    • Your CV; Your GitHub profile; A link to an app you built and deployed; Three to five sentences on the hardest bug you fixed in a deployed app and how you found it.
