Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Business Excellence Assistant Manager located in Prai, Penang.

The Business Excellence Assistant Manager will be responsible for fostering a culture of excellence within the organization, coaching and enabling waste removal initiatives using lean and six sigma methodologies, and guiding actions to ensure sustainable outcomes.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manages and leads cross-functional process improvement projects and business wide improvement initiatives.
  • Trains and mentors on Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Identifies and implements best practices to facilitate best solutions and methods that will optimize processes in all areas of the business.
  • Works with senior level management to integrate the Lean and Six Sigma approach to meet business strategy. Drive Site KPI performance improvement with KTBN (Kaizen To Business Needs) working with cross functional team. Plan and facilitate SGA/IKW/CKW/EKW/6-sigma workshop to drive projects to improve KPI.
  • Drive cross function performance using defined checklist and provide feedback in assessment to stakeholders.  (E.g: Simi Checklist, CIMT checklist, Rubicon…etc)
  • Work closely with Regional operation team and Global team on Global projects implementation (Eg: Workforce Design, Vertical Best Practice Sharing, KPI Dashboard standardization, Digitization initiatives…etc). 
  • Applying and deploying Flex Lean Enterprise Principles across the entire organization.
  • Responsible for eliminating waste and creating value by reducing variation in the processes to achieve sustainable results throughout the organization and segment.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques, initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions and other activities aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Subject matter expert in Lean 6-sigma methodology preferably Lean 6-sigma Black Belt Certified.  
  • Good project management skills.
  • Mastering structural troubleshooting approach such 7 steps problem solving methodology, PDCA , DMAIC…etc. 
  • Mastering Lean tools such as VSM, SPC, RFC, 7 QC Tools, 6S, OEE, Takt, FMED, Pull system..etc.
  • Able to scope up improvement opportunities, working on improvement projects, and guide and facilitate improvement team to work on improvements.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

  • Effective Black Belt with working experience in EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Subcontract) or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
  • Drive End-to-End value stream improvements (Materials, Warehouses, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, IT)
  • Good knowledge in advanced IT / Automation solutions.
  • I4.0 (Industrial 4.0) knowledge will be added advantages.
