Ready to turn classroom ideas into working machines? By working with us at FlexLink Engineering Sdn Bhd, you'll join a hands-on engineering team that designs automation modules and production systems for regional manufacturers, improving how products are made and moved.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will help build prototypes, test rigs and component assemblies that move projects from concept to shop floor. You will take part in design reviews, laboratory testing, component sourcing and system integration to scale ideas into manufacturable solutions.

  • Build hands-on experience by designing parts, running tests and documenting technical results on active projects.
  • Develop practical CAD and analysis skills with exposure to SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB or Python workflows under engineer mentorship.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Prototype & Lab Work

  • You will build and assemble prototypes, test rigs and component assemblies to validate designs on the shop floor.
  • You will run laboratory tests, record clear results, and iterate with engineers to improve performance.

Design & Documentation

  • You will develop and update CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • You will document test procedures, measurement data and assembly instructions for repeatable builds.

Integration & Production Scaling

  • You will support system integration and component sourcing by preparing parts lists and verifying fit and function.
  • You will own small subsystems and follow changes from prototype through to manufacturable solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • You are available to commit to a full-time internship for 3 to 6 months.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

  • You are familiar with core engineering tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, Python, or PCB design software.
  • Basic workshop skills and experience with measurement, assembly or prototype testing are highly relevant.

Soft Skills & Qualities

  • You have strong analytical thinking, a proactive attitude, and eagerness to learn from mentors and peers.
  • You communicate well and enjoy collaborating with design, manufacturing and sourcing teams.
