We're hiring a Retail Activation Lead to own the launch of a new premium Japanese seafood category in major Singapore retailers. This is a build-from-zero role with real ownership.
About us. Gyoren is part of a string of three vertically integrated Japanese seafood businesses — wholesale (gyoren.sg), premium bento catering (dayuseafood.sg), and a seafood restaurant (huplok.sg). What ties us together is direct sourcing from Japan's top producers — Toyo Reizo, Hokkaido Gyoren, Tsukiji Kanisho — often before product even reaches Toyosu market. We're seafood geeks, fishermen and chefs who respect the catch.
The role. We're now expanding into a new premium retail category with a major retail group, launching at two flagship stores with more to follow. You'll be the face of the category in stores: running tastings, cooking demos, training the retail partner's frontline staff, and turning curious shoppers into repeat customers. Every two months you'll also help anchor larger destination weekends with live cutting and masterclasses, fully supported by our chefs.
This is not a typical sales job. We don't push product. We teach, and conversion follows. We'll train you on the product — you bring the energy, the warmth, and the willingness to learn.
The shape. Full-time, weekend-anchored. 5.5 days/week (Wed–Sun + half day). Field-based across major retail stores. SGD 3,000–3,500 base + performance bonus tied to category sales. Reports to Head of Business Development. Start mid-May 2026.
Open to Singaporeans, PRs, and Malaysians. Work Permits available — we sponsor and handle the paperwork. JB commute is fine. Driving licence preferred (Malaysian licence works — we'll convert it).
