As a System Development Engineer, you will support the development of our monitoring and control system platform, connecting software, sensors, controllers, equipment data, and dashboards into practical, field-ready solutions.

This role is suitable for someone who is interested in applying software development to real engineering systems, including equipment monitoring, data logging, alarm functions, system testing, and hardware-software integration.

Job Requirements

System & Platform Development

• Develop and improve monitoring and control software for our humidity control systems, including backend, frontend, database, dashboard and system logic as required.
• Build dashboards, data logging functions, alarm features, reports and internal tools that make equipment monitoring, troubleshooting and customer support more practical.
• Test and debug system functions before deployment and help prepare release notes, user guides and system documentation.

Equipment Communication & Integration

• Support the integration of sensors, controllers, gateways and industrial devices to ensure reliable data flow between equipment and software.
• Perform communication testing with RS485, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and related protocols, including checking data mapping, device response and system stability.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to clarify technical communication requirements and support proper system connectivity.

Testing, Commissioning & Cross-Functional Support

• Carry out functional testing for monitoring, control, alarm and reporting features, and support site testing or commissioning when required.
• Troubleshoot communication errors, sensor readings, data issues and control logic problems, and follow up until issues are properly resolved.
• Prepare test records, technical notes, user guides and handover documentation.
• Work with engineering, technical service, sales support and management teams to improve product reliability and system capability based on field feedback.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, IoT, Robotics or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience in software development, automation, IoT, system integration, industrial communication, equipment control or technical support will have an advantage.
• Hard Skills & Knowledge
• Basic knowledge or strong interest in programming, system development, databases, dashboards, control systems or equipment communication.
• Familiarity with RS485, Modbus, PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, Linux, Node-RED, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, C/C++, MySQL, InfluxDB or Grafana will be an added advantage.
• Able or willing to learn how to read wiring diagrams, system flow, communication mapping and technical documentation.
• Interested in translating equipment behaviour, sensor data and hardware communication into practical software requirements.
• Comfortable working with both software and physical equipment during testing, troubleshooting and commissioning support.
  

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Able to communicate clearly in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin will be an added advantage.
• Practical, hands-on and willing to learn across software, equipment and engineering systems.
• Able to troubleshoot problems methodically and follow up on tasks until they are completed.
• Careful in testing, checking data, documentation and system handover.
• Able to work with engineers, technicians, suppliers and internal teams.
• Interested in long-term technical growth, system development and product ownership.
