Job Description

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervision & Coordination

  • Lead, supervise, and guide a team of carpenters in manufacturing
     
  • Coordinate daily site activities and ensure smooth workflow with other trades (electrical, M&E, painters, flooring, etc.).
     
  • Monitor progress and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
     
  • Ensure all works comply with design drawings, measurements, and technical specifications.
     

2. Carpentry Works & Quality Control

  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, and installation of retail fixtures, cabinetry, counters, wall panels, ceilings, and custom-made fittings.
     
  • Inspect workmanship to ensure high-quality finishing.
     
  • Verify materials delivered to site match project requirements.
     
  • Troubleshoot and resolve carpentry-related technical issues on-site.
     

3. Project Planning & Reporting

  • Assist Project Manager in manpower planning and daily work allocation.
     
  • Provide daily/weekly site progress reports.
     
  • Highlight any delays, material shortages, or site issues.
     

4. Safety Compliance

  • Ensure site safety rules and regulations are strictly followed.
     
  • Conduct toolbox briefings and ensure workers use proper PPE.
     

5. Client & Contractor Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams (design, project, production) and external parties (main contractors, subcontractors).
     
  • Attend site meetings when required.
     
  • Ensure client requirements and quality expectations are met.

Job Requirements

 

Requirements

  • Minimum SPM / Certificate / SKM in Carpentry, Construction, or related field.
     
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in carpentry and at least 1 year in supervisory role.
     
  • Experience in retail fit-out, kiosk construction, F&B outlets, or petrol station projects is an added advantage.
     
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
     
  • Able to read technical drawings and shop drawings.
     
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
     
  • Willing to travel to multiple sites and work overtime/weekends when required.
