Job Description

 Brand & IP Category Management

  • Manage assigned licensed IP brands and merchandise categories across retail stores, pop-ups, events, e-commerce, and distribution channels.
  • Understand brand DNA, target audience, and product direction for each assigned IP brand.
  • Ensure all product planning, marketing materials, retail display, and campaign activities are aligned with licensor guidelines and brand positioning.
  • Coordinate with licensors and internal teams for approval of product usage, artwork, packaging, and marketing materials.
  • Identify market trends and customer preferences for character merchandise, plush, toys, gifting products, collectibles, and lifestyle merchandise.
  • Build and maintain clear product and brand direction for assigned IP categories.

Merchandise & Product Planning

  • Plan and manage product assortment for each IP brand and retail channel.
  • Develop product mix across categories including plush toys, collectibles, stationery, bags, accessories, apparel, confectionery, gifting products, lifestyle merchandise, seasonal products, and event-exclusive items.
  • Plan seasonal collections, festive launches, limited-edition items, campaign merchandise, and new product introductions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, licensors, designers, and internal teams to source, develop, and launch products.
  • Review pricing strategy, product margins, retail positioning, and market competitiveness.
  • Ensure product offerings are suitable for both IP merchandise stores and mass-market retail channels.

Stock Planning & Inventory Management

  • Plan stock allocation for stores, pop-ups, events, e-commerce, wholesale, and distribution channels.
  • Monitor stock movement, sell-through rates, inventory levels, and ageing stock performance.
  • Ensure replenishment of best-selling products in a timely manner.
  • Identify slow-moving products and propose corrective actions such as bundle deals, markdowns, clearance campaigns, gift-with-purchase, or purchase-with-purchase promotions.
  • Work closely with warehouse and retail operations teams to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Prepare stock plans for new store openings, retail campaigns, seasonal events, and pop-up activations.
  • Maintain healthy inventory levels and reduce overstock or understock situations.

Sales & Business Performance

  • Set and monitor sales targets by brand, category, store, campaign, and retail channel.
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports.
  • Identify best-selling products and implement strategies to drive sales growth.
  • Review slow-moving items and recommend action plans to improve performance.
  • Prepare sales forecasts for new products, events, retail campaigns, and pop-up stores.
  • Work with retail teams to improve product visibility, sell-through rate, and conversion performance.
  • Support management with business reviews, reporting, and future growth planning.

Marketing & Campaign Planning

  • Plan marketing activities for IP merchandise stores, product launches, festive campaigns, and retail promotions.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on campaign concepts, social media content, in-store visuals, digital marketing materials, and promotional mechanics.
  • Manage retail promotions including new arrivals, festive campaigns, member-exclusive promotions, bundle deals, limited-edition launches, and event-exclusive campaigns.
  • Coordinate with licensors for campaign approvals when required.
  • Work closely with malls, event organizers, and business partners to increase brand exposure and footfall.
  • Ensure campaigns are commercially effective and aligned with brand image and retail objectives.

Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Coordinate with visual merchandising and design teams to create attractive and commercially effective product displays.
  • Plan display focus for new arrivals, seasonal items, campaign products, and best-selling merchandise.
  • Ensure store presentation is engaging, easy to shop, and aligned with the IP merchandise retail experience.
  • Guide retail teams on product storytelling, display priorities, and category arrangement.
  • Ensure brand consistency across retail stores, pop-ups, events, and merchandise corners.
  • Support new store openings and pop-up setup from a merchandising and display perspective.

Supplier, Licensor & Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with suppliers on product development, costing, production timelines, delivery schedules, and replenishment planning.
  • Work closely with licensors regarding product approvals, brand guidelines, campaign usage, and marketing approvals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including retail operations, e-commerce, warehouse, marketing, finance, and design departments.
  • Ensure all product launches, campaigns, and stock movements are properly followed up and executed.
  • Maintain clear communication and strong coordination across departments and external stakeholders.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering sales performance, stock movement, sell-through rate, inventory ageing, campaign performance, store performance, and category performance.
  • Analyze product and category performance to support buying and merchandising decisions.
  • Use sales and inventory data to recommend improvements in stock allocation, product planning, and campaign execution.
  • Provide management with action plans to improve sales growth and inventory efficiency.

Job Requirements

  •  Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, Merchandising, Brand Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of working experience in brand management, merchandising, buying, retail category management, product planning, or retail marketing.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales, stock planning, product assortment, inventory management, and consumer buying behavior.
  • Good commercial sense and ability to manage sales targets, margins, and inventory performance.
  • Able to analyze sales and stock reports using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on, organized, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
