Product Specialist

Nature and aim of the position

As a Currency Choice (CC) Product Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert to provide timely technical support to the project implementation and customer technical requests. You will have the in-depth technical knowledge of CC Products/Solutions and the back-end host systems.

You are working as part of the technical product management team to ensure the successful implementation of the CC service globally. Your technical support activities include technical project support, test systems configuration, testing and troubleshooting.

As Product Specialist, you will be interacting with the Technical Project Manager, CC Operations as well as all other functions inside Product Management for Currency Choice and Technology.

Main duties and responsibilities

The holder of this position is responsible for:

  • Responsible for supporting technical project managers in successfully and timely execution of projects from project initiation to project acceptance, in terms of scope, budget, timeline and resources
  • Liaise with vendors, internal Global Blue teams for timely delivery of CC services
  • Setting up test systems and configuration for the project implementation
  • Performing and coordinating project testing with acquiring partners and terminal vendors
  • Support Technical Project Manager for Technical Support Documentation for the project
  • Work closely with Technical Project Manager and Country’s IT Team on project rollout
  • Work closely with Application Support team on backend application related issues during production
  • Providing operational advice/support on host systems applications to technical project manager
  • Providing timely responses to acquiring partners and terminal vendors on technical queries

Reporting and collaboration

  • The holder of the position reports to Senior Product Specialist
  • The holder of the position works daily with Technical Implementation Manager, Operations team, Product Management team, Sales Team, IT Infrastructure & Operation (I&O) team, Unit of Value in Software Engineering
  • The holder of the position collaborates with the Technical Implementation Manager, I&O team, and the respective Product Development Managers.

Key competencies

  • Application integration and development experience in an OLTP environment
  • Application support experience in Microsoft server environment
  • Working knowledge on Payment Standards, ISO 8583, XML in retail, credit card / financial industry
  • Strong knowledge of credit/debit card transaction processing, including online/offline transaction processing and back-end clearing/settlement, is essential
  • Working knowledge of Credit Card Payment Terminal is an added advantage
  • Knowledge in multi-currency processing and settlement is an advantage

  • Fluent in English (Oral and Written)

Education and qualifications

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or advanced Diploma
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server

Experience

  • 3 – 4 years of experience of application support in international environment
  • Knowledge and experience in Dynamic Currency Conversion is an asset
