Quick Overview on Day-to-Day:

  • Lead Site Operations: Supervise electrical installation, construction activities, site teams and subcontractors while ensuring safety, quality and timely progress. 
  • Manage Project Performance: Monitor site progress, costs, materials and project P&L; handle claims, documentation, procurement and tender support. 
  • Coordinate & Deliver: Work closely with management, consultants, authorities and stakeholders, including site visits and CAD drawing updates, to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to required standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Site Supervision & Technical Execution
    • Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment at construction sites.
    • Ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, codes and standards.
    • Review and interpret electrical drawings, plans and site instructions; conduct regular site inspections; identify discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
    • Provide technical guidance to Site Supervisors, teams and subcontractors; ensure testing and commissioning activities are planned, coordinated and documented.
  • Site Team Leadership & Supervision
    • Monitor and direct Site Supervisors and site personnel; allocate manpower and coordinate activities per project priorities and schedules.
    • Monitor subcontractor performance; conduct regular site meetings; ensure proper daily reports, site records and photographic documentation.
    • Coach junior site staff and escalate major technical, manpower, safety, quality or commercial issues to Management.
  • Project Progress & Site Management
    • Monitor site progress against schedules and milestones; prepare and review progress and site reports; identify delays, resource constraints and risks and recommend corrective actions.
    • Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors and suppliers to maintain smooth execution; maintain project records from commencement through completion.
  • Project Claims & Commercial Documentation
    • Prepare and coordinate supporting documentation for progress and project claims; verify quantities and work completed; maintain site measurements, delivery orders, photographs and supporting documents.
    • Assist in preparation and submission of variation orders and additional works claims; coordinate with Administration and Accounts on claim submissions and follow-ups.
  • Project Completion Report
    • Coordinate and prepare Completion Report (Laporan Kerja Siap) and completion documentation; ensure works are recorded with photographs, testing records and relevant documents.
    • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning and rectification works; prepare defect lists and monitor closure; support final account and project close-out.
  • Project P&L & Cost Monitoring
    • Monitor project revenue, costs and financial performance; track expenditure against budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
    • Work with Management and Accounts on P&L review; identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining safety and quality; maintain accurate project cost records.
  • Material Procurement & Resource Management
    • Plan material requirements; prepare material requests and coordinate procurement with suppliers; obtain and compare quotations.
    • Verify delivered materials against specs and POs; monitor material availability, usage, wastage and stock; maintain procurement and delivery documentation.
  • Tender & Project Documentation
    • Assist in preparing tender documentation and submissions; review tender drawings, specifications and scope of works; assist in quantity take-offs and costing.
    • Coordinate technical info and quotations from suppliers/subcontractors; maintain tender records and revisions.
  • CAD & Technical Drawings
    • Read, interpret and review electrical drawings and construction plans; prepare, amend or update CAD/as-built drawings as required.
    • Coordinate drawing revisions with consultants, engineers and site teams; ensure latest approved drawings are used on site.
  • Authority Liaison & Site Visits
    • Attend site visits and inspections with authorities, consultants and clients; coordinate authority-related inspections, testing and documentation and follow up on comments and corrective actions.
  • Safety, Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure electrical works comply with safety requirements, project standards and company procedures; enforce PPE and safe working practices.
    • Conduct quality inspections, identify hazards/non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.


Job Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. Relevant technical qualifications in electrical works advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical supervision within the construction industry; proven experience supervising electrical installation works, managing Site Supervisors and subcontractors; experience in progress monitoring, claims and documentation preferred; tender, procurement and P&L exposure advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation practices, codes and standards; able to read/interpret electrical drawings and method statements; familiar with testing and commissioning procedures; proficient in AutoCAD/CAD and Microsoft Office; able to prepare site reports and project records; familiar with project claims, variation orders and completion documentation; basic understanding of project costing and procurement.
  • Leadership & Competencies: Strong leadership, site coordination, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage subcontractors and site personnel; problem-solving, decision-making, organisation and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects and priorities; proactive and responsible.
  • Languages & Other Requirements: Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia; willing to travel to project sites; possession of own transport and valid driving licence preferred; CIDB Construction Site Supervisor Certification (CCS) preferred.
