Job Description

• To approve and countersign underwriting cases within own underwriting authority limits
• To handle CS Underwriting cases inclusive of Inclusion, Upgrading, Reinstatement, Appeal and Non-disclosure 
• To handle medical and financial underwriting with focus on high net worth cases, appeals on decisions and complex underwriting cases, as and when necessary
• To provide underwriting advice and technical consultation services to agency members, policy holders or staff of Policy Processing Department, as and when necessary
• To provide technical guidance and support to the underwriting team, as and when necessary

Job Requirements

• Possess a tertiary qualification preferably in Biology, Mathematics, Science, Genetics, Actuarial Science, Biochemistry, Economics, Nursing, Business Studies
• Completed or are pursuing the final stage in professional insurance exams eg. CII/MII/AII/LOMA
• Minimum 2-3 years working experience in life and health insurance underwriting
• Technical knowledge of underwriting
• Possess product knowledge and features, medical knowledge and human anatomy
• Well verse with life insurance industry practice
• Information gathering and analysis
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Good management, organizational and leadership skills
• Good interpersonal and good communication skills
• Ability to produce high quality work under pressure
• Good negotiation skills
• Training skills
