Key Responsibilities
- Develop backend systems using PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter)
- Customise and maintain WordPress and/or Drupal CMS beyond basic themes
- Design and optimise MySQL databases and backend architecture
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services
- Identify and resolve backend issues, including performance and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on project requirements
- Stay current with backend development best practices and emerging tools
Job Requirements
- Nationality: Malaysians only
- Position Level: Mid to Senior
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Language: Strong English communication skills
Technical Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of backend development experience in PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter)
- Hands-on experience with WordPress and/or Drupal—beyond templating
- Solid understanding of MySQL (schema design, query optimisation)
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services
- Familiarity with Git, secure coding practices, and deployment processes
- Bonus: Knowledge in cloud hosting or server management (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean)
