Havil International School

Havil International School was founded by Charlie Koh in April 2012. It began with a vision to alleviate poverty in East Malaysia through the medium of education. An opportunity arose in the form of a private venture to run a school in a vacant school building in Brickfields. Without a doubt, Mr Koh accepted this opportunity with the aim of channelling support for the development of an English language program in the remote places of Sarawak. He saw the need to provide the tools that would enable youths in underprivileged communities to bring about transformation in their own community by being a voice for the voiceless. 
Havil International School became a Cambridge School in 2014 and offers the Cambridge Primary and Secondary curriculum provided by Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE). Havil joins the community of over 10,000 Cambridge schools located in more than 160 countries worldwide under the registered number MY865.&nbsp;

HAVIL 
“Havil” means virtue or character. We have the privilege of working with a school community that is committed to modelling, expecting and recognising good character in our students. We believe that students learn these qualities through the example that we set for them and by consistently putting them into practice. Character Character is a matter of the heart. It cannot be taught, it must be caught. We recognise the important role that parents and teachers play in shaping the way our children respond in situations that test their patience, integrity, honesty and grit. At Havil, we seek to employ the 5 Havil Principles in our day-to-day interactions with one another - staff, parents, families, students and the wider school community. If we want to see a change in the next generation, it has to start with us!

<li>Operate the school telephone, determine the purpose of calls, monitor and transfer calls, and deliver messages in an appropriate and efficient manner.</li>
<li>Welcome, register, and host all stakeholders including school officials, staff, parents, students, and visitors.</li>
<li>Regularly check and respond to incoming mail. This involves forwarding messages, arranging appointments, and giving reminders.</li>
<li>Attend to front desk requests from students and parents including managing stationery purchases, uniform orders, and loan of school equipment.</li>
</ul>
2. Key Administrative Duties
<ul>
<li>Provide support for a range of office functions including copying, printing, laminating, and management of office supplies.</li>
<li>Manage the school database to ensure that it is updated and accurate.</li>
<li>Manage daily student attendance record.</li>
<li>Assist in the submission of any official documents to the pertinent government departments.</li>
<li>Assist in ordering and replenishing office &amp; pantry supplies for staff and maintain adequate stocks.</li>
<li>Assist in the maintenance of office facilities and equipment, and calling service providers when needed.</li>
<li>Ensure that regular maintenance tasks/services are scheduled and conducted in a timely and efficient manner by in-house personnel or external contractors/vendors.</li>
<li>Assist with resolving minor IT issues as and when needed and if not interfering with other main tasks.</li>
</ul>
3. Event Support
<ul>
<li>Assist with meeting room setup, organize all aspects for meetings and arrange catering when necessary.</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation for school events which include, but are not limited to the Coffee Mornings, Parent-Teacher Meetings and IGCSE Info Sessions.</li>
<li>Assist with providing logistical support, venue booking, and transportation arrangements for school trips, events, excursions, exhibitions, etc, as and when needed.</li>
</ul>
