The Corporate Reporting Accountant is responsible for the financial management of corporate entities, including timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, tax and audit liaison, and short-term cash flow planning. The role also supports group consolidation efforts, oversees related party transactions, contributes to business planning, and participates in compliance, automation, and other finance-related initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for corporate entities entity-level financial management.
- Manages monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and financial report:
- Timely and accurate close process and submission to Group for consolidation purposes.
- Assist in preparation of supporting working files and information to be furnished to consolidation team.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and Group policies.
- Liaison with external and internal auditors, tax agents and bankers.
- Ensure accruals, provisions, expenses, and forex (realized and unrealized) are taken up accurately.
- Perform periodic recoverability assessment on investments in subsidiaries and intercompany balances.
- Preparation of monthly Latest Estimate for two financial quarters.
- Oversees all related party transactions activities.
- Supervising and/or reviewing 3rd party invoices and payments.
- Assist in reviewing outgoing invoices to inter-companies.
- Short-term cash flows forecast and management which includes:
- Detail phasing of all payments on a weekly basis.
- Assist in reviewing the weekly cash planning which includes term placements for excess funds.
- Manage the direct and indirect tax compliance of the entities in charge.
- Assist in investment holding segment cost recovery.
- Involve in other compliance matters, when necessary:
- Monthly tracking and analysis of expenses against the business plan, when applicable.
- Periodic reporting to Bank Negara Malaysia.
- Preparation of Shariah-compliance assessments.
- Loan covenant.
- Assist in preparation of annual Business Plan.
- Assist in Group wide automation initiative and ITGC related matters
- Other ad-hoc duties as prescribed by the superior to assist in achieving Finance Department’s objectives.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Possesses at least a Degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA, ACCA or relevant qualification. At least 4-5 years of relevant working experience in audit and commercial (exposure to public listed company in Malaysia is an advantage, but not necessary).
- Strong experience in closing full set of accounts.
- Good understanding of accounting standards.
- Good analytical and reasoning skills.
- Knowledge of SUN system will be an advantage.
- Deadline oriented, meticulous and keen attention to details.
- Self-motivated and ability to work in a team.
- Assertive and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
