The Senior Executive, Decarbonisation reports directly to the Head, Decarbonisation and responsible:
- In helping to develop strategies, plans and drive actions in Decarbonization and Energy Transition, in concert with the management team of Hibiscus Malaysia Limited.
- Lead the asset team in the area of decarbonization, including and not limited to GHG reductions, flare/vent reductions, operational efficiencies and evaluation of Carbon Capture Storage (CCS).
- Gather market intelligence and regulatory information and transition finance on Decarbonization and Energy Transition in our areas of operation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Decarbonisation, Energy Transition & Sustainability
- Develop and update business plans, and implement initiatives related to decarbonisation and the energy transition within the asset.
- Maintain and update a database of decarbonisation opportunities, including emerging technologies, regulatory frameworks, and transition finance options.
- Coordinate projects related to decarbonisation, such as OGMP 2.0 and Zero Routine Flaring & Venting (ZRF/V).
- Lead and collaborate with the Group on the Environmental section of the Sustainability Report, including developments related to the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and new regulatory requirements.
- Lead and collaborate with the Group and subsidiaries on activities related to the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF), IFRS S1/S2, climate transition risks, and other new regulations.
- Coordinate capacity-building initiatives within Hibiscus Malaysia on decarbonisation and climate change.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to position Hibiscus for bidding, negotiations, and acquisitions of new opportunities or assets.
- Demonstrate Hibiscus values and use experience to mentor young talent on leadership and management competencies.

- Adhere to safe work practices and ensure the safety of all individuals in the workplace.
- Ensure HSSE Management System requirements, company policies, and legal obligations under areas of responsibility are communicated, implemented, and complied with.
- Take personal responsibility for health and safety and ensure the safety of others who may be affected by company activities.
- Promote safe behavior, proactively report hazards and incidents, and support HSSE programs.
- Attend HSSE training and actively participate in safety meetings and workplace inspections as required.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, General Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- 5–10 years’ experience in E&P, the energy sector, sustainability, decarbonisation, or regulatory/public policy, with operational experience considered an advantage.
- Solid understanding of energy transition, decarbonisation, and opportunity generation frameworks, as well as climate change initiatives such as OGMP 2.0, UNFCCC, and IPCC, with reasonable knowledge of local climate legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and develop business opportunities, build financial and technical models, analyze value drivers, and advise on valuations and decision-making criteria.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and maintaining effective relationships with regulators and industry partners.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal); able to work independently, think critically, and adapt to changing situations with professionalism.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and remote collaboration tools to support productivity and effective communication.
