Senior Geologist

The Senior Geologist will report directly to the Head of Geology and will provide support in geological activities for the subsidiary. This role requires a strong background in Geology and/or petroleum geosciences.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform geological interpretation on Block B and other opportunities in Brunei.
• Participate in the geological definition of the exploration, appraisal and development strategies for block B and Brunei surrounding area.
• Propose and technically follow geological studies for Block B and other opportunities in Brunei.
• Participate as a prospect generator.
• Participate on Call for Tender for external projects and internally when required.
• Participate and work together with geophysicist, in the evaluation of the Block B and other opportunities in Brunei as well as Prospect generating exercise.
• Perform and propose Geological studies to support the opportunities.
• Assist in the preparation of the well proposal, definition and implantation for drilling.
• Update regional geology with the new 3D seismic data
• Guarantee the quality of the interpretations that he/she performs or supervises.
• Participate and work together with the Geophysicist in the implementation and improvement of the pore pressure predictions, making maximum use of the various seismic volumes available and using various methods.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc in Geology/Petroleum Geosciences or equivalent
• At least 10 years experiences in Geological disciplines.
• HSE awareness.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Able to work with others.
• Sound, logical, and rational thinking.
• Strong attention to details.
• Responsive and timely.
• Proactive and able to problem solve effectively.
• Able to work independently, produce accurate and sound deliverables.
• Accountable and takes ownership of own work performance.
• Receptive towards negative feedback and performance management if any.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
