Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible to assist and support the HoD in the daily affairs of the Legal Department in contracts, litigation, regulatory, documentation, general advisory on business-related and specialised laws of data protection, intellectual property rights and anti-bribery.
1. Manage the drafting, review and negotiation process in property, tenancies and suppliers trading agreements with demonstration of business acumen. 2. Handle the applications and related processes in intellectual property rights for the company and its products. 3. Support trainings in different areas of law to internal clients including contracts, sale of goods, anti-bribery, local customs. 4. Assist in the development of documentation system. 5. Assist in handling regulatory and litigious matters. 6. Coordinate the approval process and communication with internal clients and external stakeholders and lawyers. 7. Regularly research on specialise laws and relevant rules and regulations relevant to the company’s business. 8. To assist in the monitoring of compliances of internal policies, licences, rules and regulations. 9. Ability to handle company secretarial works in accordance with Companies Act 2016 including liaising with external secretary and compile and record documents to be submitted to SSM within dateline.
Job Requirements
Education & Qualification • Minimum LL.B or Bachelor of Laws or equivalent from reputable institutions. • Qualified lawyer with post-graduate diploma in Certificate in Legal Practice, UK’s Bar Vocational Course, UK’s Solicitors Qualifying Exam, Singapore Bar Examinations or China National Judicial Examination. Relevant Experience & Years of Service • 2-4 years post graduate working experience in legal or regulatory industries. • With prior exposure to retail, FMCG, customs, manufacturing, supply chain industries. Technical Skills, Professional Knowledge & Competencies • Excellent written and verbal command in English and Malay, additional knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage. • Strong knowledge in Companies Act, Sale of Goods Act, Trademarks Act, contract law, litigation and court rules. • Able to respond to queries outside office hours. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
