Job Description

• 1. Accounting and Financial Reporting - Immediate Focus (Malaysia ), Phased Expansion (Singapore , Indonesia & Middle East):
• Entity Management: Manage daily accounting documents, receipts, and payment transactions specifically for the Malaysia entity.
• Ledger Oversight: Monitor general ledger activities to ensure absolute accuracy and completeness of all accounting records. 
• Financial Closing: Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and reporting in strict compliance with local GAAPs and group requirements. 
• Costing & Inventory: Manage product costing, standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. 
• Analysis & Commentary: Provide detailed variance analysis, monthly financial reviews, and insightful business commentaries to management. 
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage both internal and external audit processes, ensuring swift resolution of any audit findings.
  
  2. Operational Finance 
• Transaction Management: Prepare, verify, and approve daily operational finance transactions including fund transfers, supplier payments, and expense claims. 
• Cash Flow & Capital: Oversee regional working capital and continuously monitor cash flow forecasts.
  
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting
• Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecast cycles for the assigned regions. 
• Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate actual business performance against established budgets and forecasts.
  
  4. Tax Compliance 
• Tax Management: Ensure full compliance with corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect taxes (SST/GST/VAT), and other applicable statutory taxes across the regional scope. 
• Transfer Pricing: Provide accurate financial information and review comprehensive transfer pricing documentation. 
• Group Reporting: Prepare and review specialized tax reporting packages as dictated by group requirements.
  
  5. Internal Control 
• Framework Governance: Maintain, review, and strengthen internal control frameworks to ensure data integrity and full alignment with the group’s internal control policies.
  
  6. Ad-hoc Requests 
• Management Support: Execute ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as requested by management.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline. 
• Professional Certification: CA, ACCA, or CPA qualification is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong command of IFRS and local GAAPs across Southeast Asia and the Middle East and advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.). 
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven tracking record of managing remote teams and working effectively with cross-cultural stakeholders. 
• Key Attributes: Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of delivering accurate results under tight deadlines. 
• Mobility: Willing and able to travel within Malaysia and overseas as required.
