Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Finance Manager to support the daily financial operations of an established company in the financial technology and payment services industry. This role focuses on financial reporting, accounting, treasury operations, and regulatory compliance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the finance function.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance, Risk & Credit to maintain effective financial controls, support budgeting and cash flow management, and oversee day-to-day finance activities. The position also offers exposure to payment processing operations, including settlements involving Visa and Mastercard.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate financial records and timely completion of accounting activities.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting financial schedules.
• Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow planning to support business operations.
• Monitor treasury activities, cash flow positions, and credit management processes.
• Review and reconcile Visa and Mastercard settlement reports, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, taxation matters, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with MFRS, IFRS, and applicable Malaysian tax regulations.
• Maintain effective internal financial controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
• Supervise and guide finance team members, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to established procedures.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance, Risk & Credit on financial analysis, reporting matters, and other operational finance activities.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent qualification.
• Must be a registered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or MICPA, including finalists, are an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Prior experience in the fintech, payment processing, or financial services industry is preferred.
• Sound knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Malaysian taxation.
• Experience using accounting software such as UBS.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
