Job Description

The CIO is responsible for defining, leading, and executing the company’s overall technology strategy, covering the trading platform, enterprise systems, and all digital initiatives. This role ensures that technology solutions support business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and drive digital transformation. The CIO oversees project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline while working closely with senior leadership to strengthen technology capabilities across the organisation.

• Set the IT vision, objectives, and strategies in alignment with business goals, and provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the IT team and internal stakeholders.
• Select, design, and implement innovative technologies to streamline operations, optimise efficiency, and provide competitive advantage—especially across trading platforms and digital systems.
• Architect, customise, and improve technology systems and platforms to enhance internal operations and elevate customer experience.
• Oversee all IT and digital transformation projects, ensuring strong governance, optimal performance, and timely delivery—particularly large-scale application and system enhancement initiatives.
• Evaluate technology costs, value, and risk, and advise Top Management with data-driven insights and recommended actions.
• Plan and implement system enhancements based on business priorities, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
• Translate technical concepts into simple, clear language for non-technical stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliability, trust, and accurate flow of information.
• Interpret and communicate regulatory, industry, and technology standards, ensuring compliance across systems and processes.
• Escalate critical issues and provide recommendations to Top Management promptly and proactively.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience as a CIO or senior technology leader within Financial Services, Fintech, or Stockbroking industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• 10–15 years of managerial experience, with a strong background leading multi-disciplinary IT teams.
• Strong expertise in IT systems, software development, and digital transformation; experience with trading applications is a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of business operations, data analysis, budgeting, and technology governance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple concurrent projects, including large-scale system or application change initiatives.
• Highly analytical, professional, and organised with strong leadership capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and strategic planning ability.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment, with a working style that values initiative, proactiveness, good manners, and balanced communication—aligned with Japanese-influenced leadership culture.
