Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Advisory & Compliance
• Provide strategic legal advice to management and business units on a board range of corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
• Ensure the company’s operations and internal policies comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including standards governing workplace and operational practices.
• Keep management informed on changes in laws and regulations affecting the industry.
2. Contract Management
• Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, but not limited to service, partnership, vendor, and client contracts, NDAs, and licensing agreements.
• Establish and maintain a structured contract management system to track obligations, renewals, and compliance.
3. Corporate Governance & Regulatory Affairs
• Oversee corporate secretarial functions, including preparation of board resolutions, minutes, and statutory filings (where applicable).
• Support management in maintaining robust corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to all operational legal requirements related to the company’s practices and policies.
4. Risk Management & Dispute Resolution
• Identify potential legal and compliance risks, providing mitigation strategies to management.
• Manage external legal counsel for disputes, regulatory matters, and intellectual property protection.
• Handle internal investigations and ensure all proceedings are conducted fairly and in compliance with company policies.
5. Policy Development & Legal Awareness
• Develop and review internal policies related to compliance, governance, and operational conduct.
• Conduct awareness and training sessions for employees to reinforce understanding of legal and regulatory responsibilities.
6. Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, coach, and develop the legal team to ensure high performance, professional growth, and efficient delivery of legal support across the organization.
• Allocate tasks, oversee progress, and ensure timely completion of legal and compliance projects.
• Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and collaboration within the legal function.
