• Lead strategic planning and academic direction for the Faculty of Engineering
• Oversee curriculum development aligned with industry needs.
• Promote and fund research and innovation.
• Manage faculty recruitment, development, and evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Build partnerships with industry, government, and academia.
• Support student success and academic mentoring.
• Manage budgets and resource allocation.
• Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
• Represent the faculty in national and international forums.
• Monitor teaching quality and improve learning outcomes.
• Promote modern teaching methods and technology use.
• Oversee labs, technical resources, and community engagement.
• Support faculty scholarship and publications.
• Manage student admissions and enrollment.
• Uphold ethics, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Report faculty performance and outcomes to university leadership.

Job Requirements

• Academic Credentials: PhD in Engineering or a closely related discipline from a
recognized institution.
• Leadership Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in senior academic or
administrative roles (e.g., Dean, Associate Dean, Head of School) with
demonstrated success in strategic planning and team leadership.
• Research & Innovation: Proven track record of impactful research, publications,
and securing competitive grants in engineering or technology fields.
• Curriculum & Accreditation Expertise: Deep understanding of engineering
education standards, program development, and accreditation processes (e.g.,
EAC, MQA).
• Industry Collaboration: Strong connections with industry, government, and
professional bodies, with experience in driving partnerships and applied
research.
• Visionary Leadership: Ability to lead change, foster innovation, and position the
school as a regional leader in engineering education.
• Communication & Influence: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and
presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Language Requirement: Fluent in Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and English
• Registered with the Board of Engineering
