Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Export Manager to oversee international freight forwarding and export operations, ensuring efficient shipment coordination, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing daily export activities while driving operational improvements and supporting business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, with hands-on knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and international shipping operations. You will be responsible for leading the export team, managing external service providers, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and logistics partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end export operations, including shipping coordination, customs clearance, documentation, and international shipments.
• Develop and implement export strategies to improve operational efficiency and achieve business objectives.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the export team, ensuring performance targets and operational standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and export documentation standards.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, carriers, freight forwarding partners, and external service providers to ensure smooth shipment arrangements.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, addressing shipment inquiries, operational issues, and service requirements.
• Monitor export performance, shipment volumes, operational costs, and revenue, providing regular reports to management.
• Negotiate with external service providers to optimise shipping arrangements, service quality, and operational costs.
• Review and approve export-related quotations, invoices, costing, and service provider charges.
• Identify operational challenges and implement improvements to enhance productivity, service delivery, and team performance.

Job Requirements

• Compulsory experience in the freight forwarding industry, preferably with a strong focus on export operations.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in export operations, freight forwarding, or a closely related function.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in managing an export operations team.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, trade compliance, and export documentation.
• Familiarity with coordinating international shipments, shipping lines, carriers, and logistics service providers.
• Good communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese, with Chinese-speaking candidates preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, operational priorities, and deadlines.
• Able to work independently, handle pressure, and resolve operational challenges effectively.
• Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent; higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
