Job Description

This role manages distributor accounts across modern trade and general trade channels, supporting the company’s sales growth and market execution in Malaysia. It works closely with internal teams such as supply chain, sales operations, and trade marketing to ensure smooth order fulfilment, promotions, and stock availability. The role is primarily office-based and requires a structured, execution-focused approach to account planning and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Distributor & Account Management
Manage assigned distributor accounts and drive sales performance across modern trade and general trade channels.
Maintain regular engagement to support sell-in, sell-out, and market execution.

Sales Planning & Execution
Plan promotions, product listings, and trade activities with distributors and internal teams.
Track account performance, inventory levels, and promotional effectiveness.

Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with supply chain, sales operations, finance, and trade marketing to ensure smooth delivery and order fulfilment.
Resolve day-to-day operational issues related to orders, stock, and timelines.

Reporting & Performance Tracking
Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews.
Monitor KPIs and highlight risks or opportunities to the Sales Manager.

Scope by level

  • Assistant Manager – manages one main distributor with broader account coverage and higher volume.
  • Senior Executive – manages two distributor accounts focused on specific product categories.

Job Requirements

  • Background in food industry sales, preferably handling modern trade and distributor accounts
  • Experience managing distributor relationships:
    Assistant Manager – larger account scope / higher volume portfolio
    Senior Executive – smaller or category-focused portfolio
  • Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams (sales ops, supply chain, trade marketing, finance)
  • Structured and organised working style (planning, follow-ups, tracking, reporting)
  • Commercially minded with basic understanding of sales performance and promotions
  • Comfortable working mainly office-based with regular distributor engagement
  • Mandarin speaking is mandatory
