1. Collaboration with Physicians: Should establish strong relationships with the retired home's panel doctors and locum doctors (temporary replacements).

This can involve:

  • Regular communication: Schedule meetings or calls to discuss resident care plans, treatment options, and potential medication changes.
  • Seeking guidance in urgent situations: When a resident experience an urgent medical issue and a doctor isn't immediately available, Clinical In -charge should proactively reach out to a panel doctor or locum doctor for advice on managing the situation until a doctor can physically examine the resident. This might involve discussing potential medication adjustments based on the resident's history and doctor's past recommendations, but always adhering to established protocols (SOPs).
  • Documenting communication: Clearly document all conversations and recommendations from doctors, including panel doctors and locums, to ensure continuity of care and clear communication with all staff involved in the resident's care.

2. Leadership and Management:

  • Provide direction and mentorship to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and nursing assistants.
  • Ensure staff are up-to-date on best practices and regulations through continuing education programs.
  • Manage staff performance through evaluations and disciplinary actions (if necessary). Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

3. Clinical Expertise:

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5 to 6 years relevant working experience in a healthcare, clinical training, or academic setting.
  • Experience and proven record of leading a team of staff nurse, caregivers and homecare team.
  • Proficient in managing clinical tools, equipment, and inventory.
  • Capable of setting up teaching aids and using multimedia/audio-visual tools.
  • Competent in scheduling and coordinating teaching/practice sessions.
  • Competent in people management skill and ability to arrange shift rotation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with all the stakeholders in a professional settings.
