Job Description

As the company continues to scale its engineering and commercial teams, People Operations plays a critical role in enabling sustainable growth. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented People Operations Executive who is excited to help build the internal foundations of a high-performing AI startup.

This role goes beyond routine HR administration. You will own day-to-day people operations—covering payroll, statutory compliance, benefits administration, recruitment coordination, and employee support—while also contributing to the systems, processes, and culture that allow our teams to do their best work.

1. Human Resources Operations

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, personnel files, and leave management.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR enquiries and support.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
  • Support performance management processes, including probation reviews, confirmations, and appraisals.

2. Compensation, Payroll & Benefits

  • Prepare and process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Compile attendance, overtime, leave, and claims data for salary computation.
  • Manage statutory contributions and filings (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB/LHDN) and generate payslips.
  • Handle employee claims and welfare administration (e.g. medical claims and approvals).
  • Coordinate employee benefits such as insurance enrolment, renewals, and vendor communications.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records in compliance with company policies.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies professionally and confidentially.

3. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, CV screening, interview scheduling, offer preparation, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers and recruitment platforms or agencies to source suitable candidates.
  • Maintain candidate records and continuously improve recruitment and onboarding processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, payroll, people operations, or administrative roles (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian HR practices, labour laws, and statutory requirements (Employment Act, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive information and complex people-related matters.
