Job Description

This role is responsible for the end-to-end operation, setup, and maintenance of pouch-making machinery, converting printed flexible packaging films into finished bags such as stand-up pouches, 3-side seals, and spout pouches while minimizing waste, maintaining seal strength, and meeting production deadlines.

The person will also be expected to handle machine setup, production monitoring, troubleshooting, quality control, food safety compliance, and operator guidance, making this a hands-on production floor role with both technical and supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation
Perform machine changeovers including folder adjustments, heat seal bar alignment, zipper attachment setup, and puncher positioning.

Production Excellence
Monitor machine runs for speed and quality consistency, and adjust temperature, pressure, and dwell time based on material specs and print handling requirements.

Troubleshooting
Resolve technical issues such as curling, improper sealing, zipper misalignment, and inconsistent gusseting.

Training & Mentorship
Train and guide junior operators and general workers in safe machine handling, defect identification, hygiene compliance, and bag-making techniques.

Quality Control
Conduct pull tests, burst tests, and water leak tests to ensure seal strength, dimensional accuracy, and proper tear notch placement.

Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure GMP, hygiene practices, and FSSC 22000 compliance across operations, handling, and traceability logs.

Secondary Responsibilities
Daily maintenance and sanitation, material and waste management, assisting production scheduling, and ensuring 5S and safety compliance on the production floor.

Job Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant experience in bag making, pouch making, flexible packaging, or related manufacturing environment

Strong technical understanding of bag making processes, heat-sealing technology, tension control systems, and pneumatic components

Able to perform machine setup, changeover, parameter adjustment, and troubleshooting independently

Hands-on experience in monitoring production quality and conducting quality checks such as seal strength, leakage, or dimensional checks

Familiar with production floor hygiene, GMP, food safety practices, and structured machine handling

Able to guide, train, or supervise operators and general workers on daily production activities

Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment with responsibility for output, quality, and machine uptime
