Job Description

• Lead the design documentation of lighting systems as part of a broader AVCL setup, including lighting, audio, video, SFX and control systems.
• Design and plan lighting systems for immersive, interactive, exhibition, gallery, museum, theatrical, themed or experience-led environments.
• Translate creative direction into practical lighting layouts, lighting schedules, fixture planning, system drawings and technical documentation.
• Integrate lighting fixtures and technical elements into the themed or built environment where possible, while maintaining the intended creative and guest experience.
• Work with creative teams to ensure lighting elements align with the project theme, story, mood and narrative.
• Coordinate lighting design with video displays, projection systems, LED installations, multimedia content, interactive technologies and show control systems.
• Support detailed design for lighting control, automation, show control operation and custom control system interfaces.
• Prepare, review or interpret lighting layouts, light schedules, AV block diagrams, line diagrams, logic diagrams, network schematics and system architecture documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Design Managers, Creative Directors, Project Managers, AV suppliers, lighting suppliers and other stakeholders to manage the lighting scope design integration.
• Ensure designs can be executed accurately and efficiently from design stage to construction or implementation stage.
• Understand the creative objectives within each scene or experience, and ensure the technical lighting design supports the intended guest experience.
• Review 3D models or Navisworks where required to support spatial coordination and technical integration.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in theatre activations, lighting design, AV system integration, exhibitions, museums, galleries, digital installations, interactive experiences, themed attractions or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of lighting systems, theatrical lighting, entertainment lighting, show lighting, lighting fixtures, lighting control and lighting integration.
• Knowledge of control systems, servers, networking and interactive technologies.
• Familiarity with multimedia workflows, including video, animation, interactive content and sensors.
• Strong ability to prepare and interpret lighting layouts, light schedules, system drawings, AV block diagrams, line diagrams, logic diagrams, network schematics and system architecture documentation.
• Hands-on experience and/or strong technical knowledge of lighting equipment, AV equipment, control systems, network infrastructure and multimedia playback systems.
• Strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams from design to construction.
• Good problem-solving ability, technical aptitude and structured approach to troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling or Navisworks will be an added advantage.
• Experience with themed attractions or experiential design projects will be an added advantage.
• Experience and knowledge of theatrical productions and entertainment will be an added advantage.
