Position Overview
The Site Manager is responsible for leading and managing all on-site construction activities for high-rise building projects. Representing a CIDB Grade G7 main contractor, the role ensures full compliance with contractual requirements, Malaysian building regulations, safety standards, quality benchmarks, and project timelines.
The Site Manager plays a critical leadership role in coordinating structural, architectural, Civil and M&E works while ensuring efficient resource management and stakeholder alignment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Site Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities for high-rise developments (including substructure, superstructure, architectural finishes, and M&E coordination).
- Ensure compliance with approved construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and project master schedule.
- Lead and coordinate multiple subcontract packages.
- Resolve technical and coordination issues across disciplines.
2. Planning & Coordination
- Develop short-term construction programmes aligned with overall project milestones.
- Monitor critical path activities and structural cycles (e.g., typical floor cycle planning).
- Coordinate closely with consultants, client representatives, and design teams.
- Ensure timely mobilization of materials, equipment, and manpower.
3. HSE & Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to DOSH and local authority requirements.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines from:
- Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB)
- Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH)
- Implement site-specific safety management systems for high-rise risks (working at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, tower cranes).
- Lead safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations.
4. Quality Management
- Ensure structural and architectural works meet high-rise construction quality standards.
- Conduct internal inspections prior to consultant inspections.
- Manage defect rectification and non-conformance issues.
- Oversee testing & commissioning coordination for M&E systems.
5. Cost & Commercial Awareness
- Monitor site progress against budget allocations.
- Review subcontractor claims and work progress.
- Assist in variation claims and cost control measures.
- Minimize rework and material wastage.
6. Stakeholder & Authority Liaison
- Attend client and consultant meetings.
- Liaise with local authorities for inspections and approvals.
- Maintain professional communication with all project stakeholders.
