The Role

We are looking for a Technical Lead (Front-End) who is a "master of their craft." This is a hands-on role for an engineer who loves to code but is ready to take ownership of the Malaysian front-end chapter. You will be the technical anchor in KL, collaborating with our UK-based architects and eventually mentoring a local team of junior developers.

• Lead Development: Drive the development of high-performance web applications using React and Redux, ensuring code quality and architectural integrity.
• Technical Mentorship: Act as the local technical authority, mentoring and upskilling 3–4 junior developers as the team grows.
• Global Collaboration: Work as a key member of a unified international Scrum team. This includes participating in 1–2 evening syncs per week (approx. 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM MYT) to align with the UK/European engineering teams.
• Product Strategy: Partner with the KL-based Product Manager to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions.
• L2 Technical Support: Provide high-level technical guidance to local stakeholders and clinicians during MY office hours for complex product issues.

Job Requirements

• Experience: 5–8 years of professional experience in Front-End development, with a deep focus on React.js and Redux.
• Engineering Depth: You don’t just follow recipes; you understand the "why" behind software patterns, performance optimization, and state management. A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• Leadership: Proven experience leading or mentoring junior/mid-level developers.
• Communication: Exceptional English communication skills. You must be able to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to an international team.
• The "Doer" Mindset: You enjoy being "in the weeds" of the code and are comfortable being the sole front-end specialist in Malaysia during the initial phase.
• Flexibility: Ability to accommodate occasional evening meetings to bridge the time gap with the UK team.
