Job Description

As the TDE Project Leader, you will be the driving force and delivery of manufacturing test solutions for our next-generation server, switch, and storage products. You will own the entire test development lifecycle, from initial concept and planning during the early stages of New Product Introduction (NPI), to successful deployment and stabilization on the factory floor. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in test engineering, strong project management discipline, and exceptional communication skills to orchestrate collaboration between R&D, Software/Firmware, and Manufacturing teams. Your ultimate goal is to ensure every product is tested with a highly stable, effective, and efficient solution that guarantees our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

NPI Project Leadership & Execution (40%)

  • Lead the test development workstream for multiple NPI projects concurrently, acting as the single point of contact for all test-related matters.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements in alignment with the overall NPI product milestones (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP).
  • Proactively identify project risks (technical, schedule, budget) and develop mitigation plans.

Test Strategy & Plan Development (25%)

  • Author and owner of the ICT and FCT manufacture test strategy(MTS) for new products, detailing test coverage strategy, hardware (fixture) architecture, software framework, and data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to define precise Pass/Fail criteria, test limits, and diagnostic requirements.
  • Engage with Design-for-Test (DFT) initiatives, providing feedback to R&D to improve the testability of new hardware designs.
  • Estimate project budget, including costs for test equipment, fixtures, and development resources.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication (25%)

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between the TDE team and internal stakeholders, including Hardware R&D, Firmware/BIOS/BMC developers, and the Factory Test team.
  • Translate complex product features and technical specifications from R&D into actionable test requirements for your development team.
  • Lead technical reviews and working sessions to resolve complex integration challenges between the product, firmware, and test system.
  • Negotiate and align on deliverables, schedules, and responsibilities with the factory team to ensure a smooth transition from development to mass production.

Technical Oversight & Solution Quality (10%)

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to test development engineers on your project team.
  • Ensure the final test solution meets critical targets for stability (high MTBF), repeatability (passing Gage R&R), and efficiency (low cycle time).
  • Drive root-cause analysis for complex test failures during the NPI phases and oversee the implementation of robust corrective actions.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in test engineering or test development, with a proven track record of developing solutions for complex electronic products.
  • Deep familiarity with the NPI lifecycle (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP) and the specific test-related deliverables required at each stage.
  • Direct experience developing test solutions for enterprise hardware: servers, network switches, or storage systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive test plans, defining test coverage, methodologies, and infrastructure.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage scope, schedule, and resources for complex technical projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with test automation and programming, particularly in Python.
  • Experience with standard test & measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, network traffic generators).
  • Knowledge of server/storage architecture, including x86 platforms, BIOS/UEFI, BMC/IPMI, and high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, 100G+ Ethernet).
