This position is within Space Engineering and will be located in Glendale, AZ. The position is within the team developing the Carbon Dioxide Removal by Ionic Liquid System (CDRILS), a life support system for space and terrestrial applications, and other technologies that make it possible to live and breathe. This role will be the technical lead for all aspects (design, build, and test) of a CDRILS qualification unit and contribute technically to Honeywell’s Environmental Controls and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) product line. The successful candidate will work closely with a large cross-functional and cross-site team (including program management, advanced technology, engineering, and business development) as well as with customer design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become technical expert for CDRILS and oversee all aspects of system qualification
  • Develop, decompose and manage requirements and V&V process
  • Become highly knowledgeable in other ECLSS technologies for future road mapping

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 10+ years of relative engineering experience
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual

WE VALUE

  • Strong understanding of spacecraft technologies, specifically CDRILS and ECLSS
  • 3+ years in space applications and 5+ years in military applications
  • Experience with marine/underwater vessels is a plus
  • Experience designing, building and testing complex systems
  • Passionate with a commitment to excellence
  • A sense of urgency and drive to achieve results
  • Team oriented; enthusiastic about working on interdisciplinary and multi-site teams
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
