Retail & Business Development Manager
About HYGR
HYGR is a fast-growing Malaysian personal care brand focused on creating high-quality products designed for tropical climates. Our product portfolio includes deodorants, sunscreens, lip balms, fragrances, and other innovative personal care solutions.
We are expanding our retail footprint across major chains, growing our owned retail channels, and deepening B2B collaborations across corporate gifting, hospitality, wellness partners, and strategic partnerships.
We are looking for a commercially driven individual who can strengthen relationships, unlock new growth opportunities, and ensure HYGR is represented professionally across all customer touchpoints.
Role Overview
The Retail & Business Development Manager will lead HYGR's retail accounts, offline retail channels, B2B partnerships, distributors, and external business relationships.
Your goal is to grow revenue, increase retail visibility, improve sell-through performance, expand strategic partnerships, and ensure excellent execution across both online and offline channels.
This role requires strong coordination with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Founders to drive sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Key Account Management (Retail & Distributors)
- Manage day-to-day relationships with Watsons, Guardian, AEON, pharmacies, specialty retailers, and distributors.
- Lead account planning, negotiations, and annual business reviews.
- Negotiate trading terms, promo calendars, product listings, display opportunities, and campaign participation.
- Monitor weekly sell-out performance, ROS, inventory levels, and stock replenishment.
- Ensure strong in-store execution and visibility across all retail partners.
- Identify opportunities to increase SKU listings and retail penetration.
- Coordinate launches, activations, and promotional campaigns with retail partners.
- Build strong relationships with buyers, category managers, and distributor teams.
2. B2B Sales & Partnership Development
- Identify and develop new B2B revenue opportunities.
- Build relationships with:
- Corporate gifting clients
- Hotels
- Resorts
- Gyms
- Wellness centres
- Airlines
- Event organisers
- Universities
- Government agencies
- Corporate offices
- Develop partnership proposals, pricing structures, and business pitches.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing and execution.
- Explore co-branding and collaboration opportunities aligned with HYGR's brand values.
- Build and maintain a healthy B2B sales pipeline.
3. Retail Expansion & Offline Channel Management
- Oversee HYGR's owned offline channels including:
- Pushcarts
- Kiosks
- Pop-up stores
- Roadshows
- Event booths
- Future retail stores
- Monitor daily sales, staffing, customer experience, and operational performance.
- Ensure retail teams maintain excellent product knowledge and customer service standards.
- Develop strategies to improve conversion rates and average basket size.
- Identify high-potential locations and expansion opportunities.
- Manage relationships with:
- Mall management
- Landlords
- Event organisers
- Property partners
- Ensure visual merchandising and retail presentation meet brand standards.
- Coordinate stock allocation and replenishment for all offline channels.
- Review store performance reports and recommend improvement initiatives.
4. Strategic Partnerships & Brand Collaborations
- Source and develop partnerships that can increase brand awareness and revenue.
- Identify collaboration opportunities with:
- Brands
- Communities
- Fitness groups
- Universities
- Hotels
- Tourism partners
- Lifestyle organisations
- Negotiate mutually beneficial partnership agreements.
- Manage partnership execution from planning through completion.
- Track ROI and commercial impact of partnerships.
5. External Relations & Brand Representation
- Act as a key representative of HYGR in external meetings and events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Media
- Industry associations
- KOLs
- Corporate stakeholders
- Retail partners
- Community leaders
- Support PR opportunities, speaking engagements, exhibitions, and trade events.
- Ensure HYGR's communication remains professional and aligned with brand values.
- Represent the company confidently during business negotiations and presentations.
6. Internal Coordination & Commercial Operations
- Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure stock availability and prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Coordinate with Marketing on campaigns, launches, and retail activations.
- Support Finance in claims management, trade spending reconciliation, and retail deductions.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure smooth execution of retail and B2B projects.
- Prepare weekly and monthly business performance reports.
- Highlight key risks, opportunities, and recommendations to management.
Requirements
- 3–5 years experience in:

- Experience managing retail accounts such as Watsons, Guardian, AEON, pharmacies, or distributors is highly preferred.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
