Love discovering hidden cafés, planning the perfect itinerary, and always have a list of places saved in your personal notes? We might have your dream internship.

Portol is building the ultimate guide to the best things to do, eat and experience. We're looking for someone who's naturally curious, always exploring, and obsessed with finding places that make people say, "How did you even find this?"

What You'll Be Doing

• Research and discover the best cafés, restaurants, bars, attractions, events and hidden gems.
• Curate themed recommendations and listicles (e.g. "10 Beautiful Cafés for Date Night", "Best Weekend Escapes Near KL", "Underrated Matcha Spots").
• Curate aesthetic photos and write engaging descriptions that make readers want to visit immediately.
• Stay ahead of trends across Instagram, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, Lemon8 and other social platforms.
• Visit selected locations to gather photos, videos and first-hand recommendations.
• Help plan city guides, travel itineraries and seasonal recommendations.
• Work with the content team to turn discoveries into articles, social posts, Reels, carousels and other formats.
• Constantly ask: "Would I recommend this to my friends?"

What You'll Gain

Job Requirements

 What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Passionate about food, travel, lifestyle, and discovering new places.
• Always on Instagram, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, Lemon8, or other platforms to keep up with trends and hidden gems.
• Strong research skills with an eye for what makes a place or experience worth sharing.
• Good writing and storytelling skills in English (Mandarin is a bonus!).
• Comfortable taking aesthetic photos and short-form videos using a smartphone.
• Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute fresh ideas.
• Enjoy exploring on the ground and don't mind visiting cafés, events, attractions, and local hotspots.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
