Key Responsibilities

1. AMS Governance & Principal Ownership

  • Act as overall SAP BPC Principal SME for the AMS program
  • Own end‑to‑end application stability, performance, and compliance
  • Provide strategic direction for BPC support, enhancements, and roadmap planning
  • Drive SLA/KPI governance, escalation management, and service reviews
  • Mentor lead and senior consultants across BPC support streams


2. SAP BPC Functional Leadership

  • Provide expert‑level support for:
    • SAP BPC Embedded / Standard (NetWeaver)
    • Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Consolidation
    • Financial Close and Statutory Reporting
  • Resolve complex issues related to:
    • Process chains and data manager packages
    • Business rules (Script Logic)
    • Work status and security models
    • Data integrity, performance, and reconciliations


3. Incident, Problem & Change Management

  • Own L3/L4 escalations and production‑critical issues
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive solution design
  • Provide solution review and approval for:
    • Change Requests (CRs)
    • Enhancements and optimization initiatives
  • Ensure functional changes comply with audit, SOX, and financial controls


4. Business & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as trusted advisor to:
    • CFO organization
    • FP&A and Consolidation teams
    • IT leadership and AMS governance forums
  • Translate business planning requirements into scalable BPC solutions
  • Facilitate workshops for:
    • Process optimization
    • New requirement intake
    • Post‑incident improvement planning


5. Architecture & Integration Oversight

  • Provide design oversight for integration with:
    • SAP S/4HANA or ECC (FI/CO)
    • BW / BW on HANA
    • Data sources, flat files, and external systems
  • Review and guide:
    • Planning model design
    • Consolidation logic and elimination rules
    • Performance tuning and system scalability


6. Optimization, Automation & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to:
    • Simplify planning and consolidation processes
    • Reduce manual interventions
    • Improve system performance and user experience
  • Drive selective automation using:
    • Advanced business rules
    • BW optimizations
    • Data harmonization strategies
  • Support transformation initiatives (BPC to SAC Planning, if applicable)


7. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Establish and govern:
    • Functional design documentation
    • SOPs and knowledge articles
    • Support playbooks and escalation runbooks
  • Ensure continuity during:
    • AMS transitions
    • Team ramp‑up and release cycles
